Phoenix Sproles Becomes AMB Ambition’s First Signed Athlete
Phoenix Sproles, athlete influencer, has recently partnered with AMB Ambition, as their first signed athlete brand collaboration. Sproles aims to use this collaboration for positive change in his hometown community with 10% of profits going towards his high school. By aligning his athletic abilities with AMB Ambition’s mission, Sproles seeks to empower and uplift those who have supported him throughout his journey.
During the 2024 NFL Draft training process, AMB Ambition partnered with the facility Phoenix Sproles had been training.
“Our relationship started with GameFace in Fort Lauderdale, Florida,” said Katie Pingel, CFO of AMB Ambition. “We handled all of their clothing and did some filming for them. That’s how we met all of the guys. When we were down there and met Phoenix, he was one of our number one guys on our radar.”
Sproles knew that AMB Ambition would be at the facility giving him the opportunity to get closer with the brand.
“I met them at our training down in Florida,” said Phoenix Sproles. “They came and were set up with GameFace, so I knew they were coming. They hooked all of us up with apparel. During the filming for us over those couple of days, I got to know them better, and we hit it off… I love their work, the videos they made, their apparel, and the message behind ambition.”
AMB Ambition sought after Sproles after discovering how well they truly connected with one another.
“One thing that we really like to do, and this is where I think we align really well with Phoenix and what we see in Phoenix, is that we’re a growing and up-and-coming brand, and people take chances on us,” said Pingel. “That’s the type of community we want to be involved with and work with. We want to find the people who are putting in the work early, the ones we see potential in. For people like Phoenix, for example, the reason we want to work with him so closely is because we see that potential in him and that he can get to that point. We’re all about supporting from the start so we can be there for the journey, for the process. It’s a better way and builds a closer relationship.”
Just like AMB, Sproles kept showing love and support for the athletic company.
“I just stayed consistent. When I did wear their stuff, I made sure to tag them on Instagram stories just to show love. Then we started having more conversations about wanting to sign athletes. We got into contact with Jake and Daniel at EAMG, as well as Katie and Edgar, and got a deal together. We were like, ‘Let’s take it to the next level.’ They ended up signing me, and I just did my first video with them. They came down and got some good content.”
To Sproles, AMB Ambition was different and more than clothing.
“They are more than just trying to sell you some clothes; they are actually trying to get to know you, if possible. From the conversations I’ve had with them, they are genuine people who want to see you in their apparel, getting the most out of yourself with athletics. Since most of their gear is for activewear and fitness, you can wear this stuff every day too.” He continued, “I want to be known for working with brands that are for the customer and are putting out the best product at all times.”
Beginning May 1st, 2024, the AMB Ambition will kick off their campaign with Sproles.
The collaboration brought about the opportunity to donate to a cause of Sproles’ choosing. He described this as, “For myself, we were thinking about where we want to give back… and something I am connected to is my high school and the kids that are coming out of there. If I am going to start somewhere, why not start in my own backyard?”
Giving back to Robbinsdale Cooper High School was at the forefront of his mind.
“I know a lot of kids maybe didn’t have the same opportunities I did, and I just want to give back and show them that they can do it too,” said Sproles. “I want to give back and show them that people care about what they are doing. Even though I am seven years out of high school, I still want them to achieve their dreams and goals. If I can give back and show them a little bit of love, it could touch one of the kids and let them know that it is possible to achieve those dreams.”
AMB has shown a lot of enthusiasm about this collaboration.
“As far as what we are doing with Phoenix, this will be the first time we have embarked on something like this, and we are very excited,” said Pingel.
Bringing it all together, the community AMB Ambition and Sproles wants to create are paralleled.
“We definitely want to build a community where ambitious individuals come together and share one common thing – a strong desire to achieve,” said Edgar Mendez, founder of AMB Ambition. “These are the people who go above and beyond what is asked, who push the limits, and who break the ceiling. The next thing is they’re chasing the next big goal or the next big opportunity for themselves, for their lives. That’s what our brand really represents: building a community of those ambitious people.”
What does the future look like between them?
“We would love to continue working with Phoenix,” said Edgar. “Right now, we are building up our brand’s story and development. I think if we include Phoenix in this storytelling of our brand’s journey, it can elevate us. Phoenix is an ambitious individual with great character, and he excels in social media. You can tell that he puts in more work than others. He’s not just putting in work on the field but also in marketing himself actively. I believe those are the kind of people we want to be a part of our story.”
