Cecil is a Center at the University of South Florida and is originally from Jacksonville, Florida.

Journey to College Football

As a Florida native, Cecil knew he wanted to do whatever was in his power to stay relatively close to home. When the University of South Florida came calling, he knew it was a match made in heaven. Just three hours from his hometown, Cecil knew that strapping up in the Bulls’ green and gold uniforms was meant to be.

“I chose USF because it’s close to home. Not only that, but it really felt like home, too. I really
felt wanted and that I belong here,” Cecil said.

Opportunity. Growth. Guidance. These are each a factor that played a vital part in Cecil ultimate decision to sign with Jake O’Donnell’s Elite Athletes Marketing Group.

“Originally, I had seen Jake [O’Donnell] on social media a few times. We didn’t know each other, but he would like and comment on my Instagram posts. Eventually, he reached out to me regarding representation. It’s a great opportunity and I see a ton of room for growth and guidance,” Cecil said.

Just like O’Donnell’s other signees, Cecil bought into the vision that the Founder and CEO has.

Cecil’s favorite part about being a collegiate football player is the locker room experience.

“Most of my favorite memories were created in the locker room. We laugh, have fun, bond and even have Ping Pong tournaments and Rap Battles,” Cecil said.

According to the veteran Offensive Lineman, his best interactions have been inside the Bulls’ locker room.

Cecil, who stands at 6-4 and weighs in at 300 pounds looks forward to the locker room chemistry as he enters his fifth season with the Bulls.

He has held the Bulls’ starting Center position since the middle of the 2018 season and looks to enter his final season of eligibility in the same role.

Cecil mentioned his Football IQ.

“No one outworks me. What separates me from other Centers is my Football IQ. I yell out coverages and blitzes for the rest of the Offensive Line to hear,” Cecil said.

He also has great chemistry with all of the South Florida Quarterbacks.

“I’m close with each of the Quarterbacks. I feel trusted to create chemistry with all of them as a veteran at my position,” Cecil said

Off the Field

When Cecil is not on the football field, he enjoys listening to the music of American Rapper, Lil Baby. Additionally, his favorite NFL player is Center Jason Kelce. He likes the energy that Kelce brings to the game.

In regard to Kelce, Cecil said “I want to be like him.”

He also enjoys watching Cincinnati Bengals’ Quarterback, Joe Burrow.

Future

South Florida’s Cecil will be looking towards the NFL as he plays what will be his final season as a Bull. Playing in the NFL has been his goal since 8th Grade and feels that he has been set up to achieve just that.
